From the vigour and energy of red, orange and yellow, through the calmness of green and blue to the meditation and contemplation of indigo and violet.
Written to accompany the Black Rainbow exhibition at the Tauranga Art Gallery in 2014, Gray explores not only mood and dynamic, but also tonality and melody; drawing his progressions and structures from randomly selected notes, combined into harmonies inspired by French composers such as Satie and Ravel.
